If you want paper copies, I have negatives for better quality, for reproducing many of the photos.

GOT OLD PHOTOS TO SHARE?
The best and safest way, is to take digital photos of the old photos. You need to be in good non-glaring bright daylight, with the camera straight on above the photo, and steady, preferably using a tripod. Then crop and re-focus, or just email to me to fix up. Thank you.

December 2012:  I Posted my DNA results and analysis. Anxious to have my Leavitt cousins test also, to see how and where on the dna strands we match. Complete test price slashed to $99. See:

Joseph Leavitt's First Family:
JOSEPH LEAVITT  was born 18 Oct 1782  (in NH per 1850 census), and died Bet. Oct 1856 - May 1859 (Deeds) in Cambridge, Somerset, ME.  He married (1) SARAH MCALLISTER 29 Aug 1803 in Davistown (Montville), Lincoln, ME, daughter of ARCHIBALD MCALLISTER and MARY BOISE.  She was born Abt. 1772 in Balltown, Lincoln, ME, and died Abt. Nov 1815 in Montville, Lincoln, ME.  Note that if you have the Nehemiah Leavitt book, the lineage is wrong on this family.
This family settled in the Lincoln, Medway, and Howland Maine area.
Children are:

                i.    LOUISA LEAVITT, b. 4 Jan 1804, Montville, Lincoln, ME; d. Bef. 1850. She married JOHN F COLBATH 1 Jul 1827 in Montville, Waldo, ME, son of JAMES COLBATH and ABIGAIL SMITH.  He was born 31 May 1800 in Rome, Kennebec, ME, and died Aft. 1860 in Mattamiscontis, Penobscot, ME.

ii.    SAMUEL LEAVITT, b. 18 Oct 1806, Montville, Lincoln, ME; d. Aft. 1833.
Lincoln
ME deeds before 1834 are of this Samuel and his father. See list of deeds in his father's write-up. Left Lincoln 1833 for whereabouts unknown, likely Aroostook with his father, or with his brother.

               iii.    THOMAS LEAVITT, b. Bet. 1809 - 1810, Montville, Lincoln, ME; d. Aft. 1833.
Source for this child is an open space acc to the census, AND a Thomas Leavitt was a signee on the deed of brother Samuel Leavitt in Lincoln 1833, though we don't know for sure that Thomas was Samuel's brother. Note also that brother William named a son Thomas.

iv.    WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON LEAVITT, b. 29 Oct 1815, Montville, Lincoln, ME; d. May 1888. He married MARTHA ANN MELVIN 13 Nov 1838 (int - Old Town VR).  She was born 16 Jul 1815 in Unity, Lincoln, ME, and died 9 Jun 1874.  Emily Leavitt Noyes acquired these dates 60+ years ago and we would love to know where she got them.  MANY descendants in my family file.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE PHOTOS OF DESCENDANTS IN THIS FAMILY?
see HOWLAND CEMETERY photos

Joseph Leavitt's Second Family:

Children of JOSEPH LEAVITT and MARY ANN WALLS are:

               v.    VILETT ELIZABETH LEAVITT, b. 26 Nov 1826, Montville, Waldo, ME; d. Bet. 1890 - 1891, Monson, Piscataquis, ME. She married LEONARD STONE, son of JESSE STONE & LUCY EMERY, Abt. 1853 in St Albans, Somerset, ME.  He was born 7 Sep 1826 in Ripley, Somerset, ME, and died 21 Dec 1908 in Garland, Penobscot, ME.

vii.    JOSEPH DANIEL LEAVITT, b. 30 Dec 1829, Lincoln, Penobscot, ME; d. Bef. 1910, possibly Billings, MT. He married LOANN MARIA ROGERS, daughter of Gardner Rogers & Elvira Littlefield, 22 Nov 1855 in Cambridge, Somerset, ME.  She was born 2 Dec 1839 in Cambridge, ME, and died 20 Jan 1912 in Parkman, Piscataquis, ME.
Thank you to cousin Ginga Furlotte for the photos. Anybody have more?

Same photo, with Daniel Leavitt inserted.

Cousin Ginga Furlotte sent these photos and notes May 2006:  This is a photo of Daniel's sister Florence F Leavitt Merrill (confirmed) [both children of Joseph D & Loann], his niece Viva D. Merrill (confirmed), and quite possibly his mother Loann (supposition). Thus, the woman in the middle of the photo is Florence F. Leavitt Merrill.  The child is her daughter.

Viva appears to be approximately 7 years old in the photo.  If so, the year would have been 1895.  Florence would have been age 35 and Loann age 56 (note: Loann died at age 73).  The two women appear to resemble one another, particularly on close-up view in Adobe PhotoShop.  I am also attaching a photo of Daniel that I have added to the original.  Look at the shape of the face.

Gravestones are in Cambridge Memorial Garden Cem.
